The Process
Step 1:
Consultation
Get to know Dr. Schmidt, share your goals, and learn about surgical options that would work well for you, along with pricing. After the consultation, we can help you schedule surgery, or you may choose to spend some time at home thinking about the options and discussing them with loved ones. We are always happy to answer your questions.
Step 2:
Schedule Surgery
Whenever you decide you are ready to proceed with surgery, contact our patient coordinator to schedule your surgery, make a deposit, and choose a payment plan.
Step 3:
Pre-Operative Visits
You will have a medical clearance visit with your primary care physician, who may recommend testing before surgery if you have any health conditions. Patient safety is our number one priority.
You will also have a pre-operative visit with Dr. Schmidt to review pre- and post-operative instructions and medications. We want to make sure you feel fully prepared before surgery day!
Minor procedures performed in the office usually do not require Step 3
Step 4:
Surgery Day
You will arrive at the surgery center an hour before your scheduled surgery time. The experienced nursing team will place an IV, and you will meet your anesthesiologist. Dr. Schmidt will do surgical markings on your body.
Then, we will transition to the OR, where we ensure you are comfortable for the duration of surgery. You will wake up in the recovery area and be cared for by the nurses until you are ready to go home with your loved one.
Step 5:
Recovery
The first few days after surgery, you will rest and recover at home. Dr. Schmidt and her staff will see you in the office for checkups within 1-7 days after surgery. As you continue to heal, we will start to space out your visits, seeing you at 1 month, 4 months, and 12 months.
