As we age, the natural elasticity of our skin diminishes, leading to sagging, wrinkles, and other visible signs of aging. Many patients also experience volume loss, with hollowing of the mid-face. A facelift is a highly effective cosmetic procedure designed to restore a more youthful and refreshed appearance by tightening and repositioning facial tissues and removing excess skin. The face and neck are continous structures with similar aging changes and often need to be lifted together in order to achieve harmonious results. Ideal candidates for a facelift include individuals experiencing moderate to severe skin laxity in the lower face and neck, those with jowling and deep creases around the mouth and nose, and individuals who want long-lasting, natural-looking results.

Facelift Recovery
Subtle, Lasting Results
It is normal for recovery from your facelift to involve some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort, which can be managed with prescribed medication and proper aftercare. Most patients can resume light activities within two weeks, with return to full activity at 4 weeks. There will be noticeable improvements in your appearance as the swelling subsides. Most patients feel ready for outings to the grocery store, etc within 1-2 weeks, social engagements by 3-4 weeks, and important events or photographs by 3 months. By the three-month mark, you’ll see the full, transformative results—a smoother jawline, firmer cheeks, and a refreshed, natural look that reflects a younger version of yourself. To maintain your facelift results, we recommend a personalized skincare routine and sun protection which we will plan together with you during your follow up appointments. At Vermont Plastic Surgery, we’re here to guide you every step of the way to help you sustain your natural beauty!
